About Me
I am a professional NAATI-accredited translator who has a great passion for foreign languages and cultures and I am happy to bring them closer together with the necessary linguistic expertise and background knowledge as well as the appropriate sensitivity and respect for both the source and the target language.
In April 2011 I completed my Diplom course (comparable to a Master of Arts) in Translation Studies in English and Spanish at Heidelberg University in Germany. My supplementary specialty subject Medicine as well as my long-term employment as a personal carer at a home care nursing service for persons with severe physical disabilities helped me to gain an extensive knowledge in the field of medicine and healthcare.
Subsequent to my position as the project manager of the Düsseldorf branch office of an internationally operating language service provider, I left Germany for a trip through Central and South-East Asia to finally settle in my adoptive home Melbourne, Australia. Here I worked in the department for technical support of an Australian telecommunications company and later as a translations coordinator in the translations department of a language service provider.
As a self-employed qualified translator, I avail myself of the practical experience I gained during my previous employments.
Besides travelling the world and getting to know different cultures, I also have a great passion for music. I have been playing the piano and the saxophone for more than 20 years.
